An informative guide to deal with dry skin in this winter

Winter is right here, it is the time to give some nourishment to your skin. At any age whether it is an infant or an old person, taking care of dry skin is highly important especially during the winter season. Do you know as the wardrobe changes with the season, your skincare routine should also do? So, when you switch on to boots out of sandals, it is also important to change your skincare products for keeping the skin hydrated all through the season.

In the past few years, beauty care products have been launched according to seasonal skin concerns. And some of them have already started to do adjustments in certain areas of their routines. But it is not only about a good amount of moisturizer or cleansers; rather, it is equally important to take care of skin from the inside.

Here are some of the important skincare switches to do this winter:

1. Healthy Eating

Eating a lot of antioxidant-rich fruits, vegetables and heart-healthy fatty foods like fish, nuts and seeds can help in keeping your skin soft and hydrated. Carrots are rich in Vitamin C, a great antioxidant to produce collagen important for skin elasticity. Drinking beetroot juice purifies your blood and eliminates all toxins by leaving your skin much healthy and glowing. Broccoli and berries also have a good amount of antioxidants that help in reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the skin.

2. Drinking water

Drinking 3 to 4 liters of water keeps the skin hydrated internally and helps your kidney to function properly. Water ensures our skin layers maintain moisture and minimizes fine wrinkles for the long run. The water also helps essential nutrients to get circulated and reach the skin cells. It helps in increasing skin elasticity.

3. Shine up your skin

It does not matter how many creams or serums you apply, dry skin stays dry without some exfoliation. Get a gentle scrub, made of mild lactic or glycolic acid to get rid of dead skin cells. Beauty experts suggest using a cleanser regularly 2 or 3 times a week. If you have severely dry or raw skin, skip using exfoliators. Don’t forget buff skin, moisturizers and serums can penetrate easily.

4. Swap to a cream cleanser

During the winter, the skin naturally lacks moisture. It is better not to strip off its natural oils with any highly branded strong cleanser. If you have extremely dry skin, better to choose any cream cleaner with moisture. But if you have oily skin, this dry winter will not affect your skin severely. So for super thirsty skin, consider using any cleansing oil that can dissolve makeup and dirt even without drying up the skin.

5. Don’t forget to use eye cream

The skin around our eyes is thin and gets affected during the winter season. If you are the one who does not apply eye cream, winter is the right time to start.

6. Bed-time Routine

Along with the morning skincare routine, it is important to take care of skin during the night. To ensure healthy skin in the morning, a bedtime routine is crucial. Use serum and moisturizer along with under-eye cream for the extra repair of dry skin during winter. Biotique’s Dandelion serum works wonderful on dry skin and it is cruelty-free.

7. Hand to Toe

Everybody takes great effort to exfoliate and moisturize your face, what about your body. Along with good water intake and antioxidant food, it is good to apply a nice moisturizer all over your body after taking a bath. Try to carry a body lotion in your bag to moisture whenever you feel like it. Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is just amazing. Do not forget to apply oil content cream on your hands and feet while going to bed.

So here goes to a happy, healthy and hydrated skin through this winter.
